0-10V dimming is divided into: 0/1-10V, PWM, and adjustable resistor dimming.
0/1-10V dimming principle:
The power supply design includes a control chip. When connecting to a 0-10V or 1-10V dimmer, the power output current is changed by the 0/1-10V voltage variation. Like this:
When the 0/1-10V dimmer is adjusted to the maximum 10V, the light fixture outputs full brightness. When the 0-10V dimmer is adjusted to 0, the light fixture output is turned off.
The difference between 0-10V and 1-10V dimming: The turn-on and turn-off voltages of the light fixtures are different. 0-10V dimming turns on at 0.3V and turns off below 0.3V; 1-10V dimming turns on at 0.7~0.8V, and the signal turns off the light fixture output below 0.6V.
PWM dimming principle:
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming: The frequency of the PWM signal must be greater than 500Hz, and the amplitude must be greater than 10V. The brightness is changed by varying the pulse width. The following diagram shows the schematic of the input PWM signal and output current:
Adjustable resistor:
